We are Brin and Cheryl Berriman - welcome to our "Here to There" website. This website is our diary where we record our various cycle trips around Europe. We started it in 2017 when we cycled right across Europe - from the Black Sea to the Atlantic Ocean. That was the longest trip we have ever done (so far!), just over 3000 miles. This year (2018), we're doing a much shorter trip. The plan is to go to the source of the river Rhine high up in the Swiss alps, and then cycle down the Rhine until it goes into the north sea near Rotterdam. The main "Journal" and "Map" links at the top of the page will record our progress on that journey, but the website also gives access to our diary from our trip across Europe last year.
We'll upload a journal entry whenever we can, with a few words about what we've been doing and some pictures. We'll also keep a GPS plot of our track and update this to the site so that anyone can see exactly where we've been on a map of Europe - right down to street level.

Our latest trip - Roscoff to Santander

This ride is from Roscoff in France (Brittany) to Santander in Spain. We'll be making the trip during most of May and the first few days of June 2019. This route was actually the first long cycle ride we ever did, in the summer of 1999. Thats almost exactly 20 years ago. So we thought we'd do it again, 20 years older an a litle bit greyer, as some kind of celebration. The plan is to take the ferry fom Plymouth to Roscoff, then cycle through the west of France to the Pyrenees> Once over that range of mountains,we'd be in Spain and we would then be cycle through the mounains of northern Spain to Santander. From where we would board another ferry to carry us back to Plymouth.
